PVC Powder Coatings

PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) coatings are widely used across industries due to their durability, chemical resistance, and versatility. These coatings provide protection, enhance aesthetics, and improve the performance of various materials. Industrial and domestic applications of PVC Coatings is identical to other thermoplastic materials where its’  lower cost makes it more affordable. Its single layer thermoplastic coatings provide long term saving on maintenance, material costs and operating cost.

PVC powders are Thermoplastic in nature and are formulated by using plasticizers, pigment and other property enhancing additives when used in Industrial applications.

PVC Coatings through fluidized bed application provide excellent chemical, mechanical and physical resistance and are commonly applied where flexibility, durability and resistance to harsh environment are required.

Key Properties of PVC Coatings

  • Durability – High resistance to wear, abrasion, and impact.
  • Chemical Resistance – Resists acids, alkalis, and many solvents.
  • Weather Resistance – UV-stable and moisture-resistant, making it ideal for outdoor use.
  • Flexibility – Can be applied to rigid or flexible materials, including fabrics and metals.
  • Electrical Insulation – Offers excellent dielectric properties, making it useful for electrical applications.
  • Corrosion Resistance – Protects metals from rust and degradation.

Industrial Applications of PVC Coatings

  1. Construction – Used for Steel pipe cladding for corrosion protection for underground pipes ,as in sewers ;Park, courtyard, garden, road and residential fences hardware craft frame, shopping mall shelf, Bird and Fowl breeding cage; Highway guardrail, etc. to enhance longevity and resistance to environmental factors.
  2. Automotive Industry – Applied on underbody coatings, seat covers, and wiring insulation for durability and safety. Industrial Wire baskets used in Cleaning, Plating, and as Bins in Machine shops on conveyor lines.
  3. Wire and Cable Insulation – Ensures electrical safety and protects against environmental damage. Cable hangers in solar farms, Cable trays and insulative fenders.
  4. Medical Equipment – Found in hospital curtains, gloves, and tubing due to its antimicrobial properties.
  5. Marine Industry – Protects boats, docks, and marine structures from corrosion and water damage.

PVC coatings play a crucial role in extending the lifespan of various materials while providing functional benefits such as insulation, protection, and aesthetic appeal.
